Life Restoration Center

Counseling Services for Individuals and Families

Women's Trauma and Addiction

Life Restoration Center provides individual and familycounseling for trauma, level 3 substance abuse addiction, co-occurring, and sexual addictions for women who have experienced any of the following: crimes and accidents against them, sexual and physical assault, childhood sexual and physical abuse, domestic violence, sex trafficking, prostitution, ACOA, and other forms of trauma. Using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, ACT, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and other eclectic therapies (such as Seeking Safety, art therapy, and mindfulness), women are able to address traumatic events that have been repressed from childhood and address current abusive relationships. Clients will learn to have coping skills, confront negative self-worth, identify unhealthy patterns, become aware of triggers, set boundaries, put measures in place for safety, understand their strengths, and work towards empowerment and confidence. Many women who have not been able to address years of childhood trauma, and cannot remember fragments of their story, come to Life Restoration Center for assistance. Many of these same women cope with their trauma in negative ways such as seeking out promiscuous sexual encounters, using substances to numb the pain, self-harming, attempting suicide, responding in anger, and engaging in other addictive behaviors. Life Restoration Center staff are trained in trauma and addictions and provide a safe place where clients are respected, listened to, and cared for.
